servo drive for Fanuc A06b-0116 servo motor, Help

    Hello!

    This is my first post!

I was planning to build a cnc plasma cutter and i found some servo motors on ebay and a bought it, with out having any knowledge about servo motors.
I thought servo motors and stepper motors were about the same thing. But after 2 days of reading, I realize my mistake.

I am now looking for a servo drives to the motors.
Found some sellers of servo drives, "AMC" Advance motion control, but do not know which model I need.

Problem number two is that the servo motor needs a encorder to work well. but what kind encorder?

I bought the following servo motoer:

    1c A06B-0116-b403#0100 0,5kw cont 6000r/min 172v 1,8A 400Hz with brake DC24v
    1c A06B-0116-B175 0,4kw cont 4000r/min 115v 1,8A 267Hz with brake DC24v
    1c A06B-0116-b403 0,5kw cont 6000r/min 172v 1,8A 400Hz with brake DC24v
    1c A06B-0116-B075 0.4kw cont 4000r/min 115v 2.3A 267Hz
    4c A06B-0116-B103 0,5kw cont 6000r/min 172v 1,8A 400Hz

    Link to Ebay:

    Fanuc Lot 9 Pcs AC Servo Motor A06B 0116 B403 B175 B075 B103 "Pro" | eBay

    Please help,

    Regards Claes

Those are new enough to have serial pulsecoders (maybe even quite good ones, they go up to 16 millions counts per turn!)
so not easily useful with non Fanuc drives

I suspect you are better off Re-Ebaying the motors and buying some matched Motor/drives from Teco, DMM or some other supplier

What controller do you plan on using with these motors? You are going to need at least a Fanuc i series controller

The ide was conect to mach3 brakeoutbord or linuxcnc to a mesa card. And run it from there.
If a need a fanuc controller and servo drive, what model do i need?

There is not a lot information about fanuc motoers and drivers.
