I need help. I need CAM software recommendation.

I just bought a 2004 Cosmec Conquest 250. It has a traditional 10hp spindle, drill block, two horizontal boring heads, and an aggregate head. I mostly do 3d and some 2d machining. Can someone recommend CAM software that will allow me to utilize the entire functionality of my machine? My price limit is 5000.00. Any advice is appreciated.

Take a look at VisualMill. It sounds like you've got a somewhat unusual machine, but if you buy the program the techs at Mecsoft will configure a post-processor for it for free. For $5k, you could get the Pro version, which has all the features you're likely to need. And if you get it from us, you'll get a discount off of that.

I've already spoken to them. They asked me for output data but I have no way to get it.

I do have mastercam 9. But don't have a post for this machine and I don't know if I can program everything on this machine.

BTW. It has an osai controller.

Here's a G-code guide for the Osai controller: http://support.technocnc.com/pdf/HDS...CODE_GUIDE.pdf They should be able to use it to construct your post, if their existing Techno post doesn't work.

It sounds like you've got a somewhat unusual machine,
It's actually a very common machine.

However, it was probably designed for cutting cabinet parts, not doing 3D carving.

Software that will write code to use all of your machines capabilities will typically be cabinet oriented. Most will be well over your budget.

Programs like AlphaCAM and MasterCAM router are what it typically used with a machine like that, but they can be very expensive.
