MOving to a new pc with win7. Need to be able to transfer files to TNC155 controller on a Huron Mill.

Before you move to the new PC, check the settings on the old one.

The pgm that I was using to transfer files does NOT work with win 7.

    Port Com1
    Baud rate 2400
    Parity Even
    Data Bits 7
    Stop Bits 1

    Time Out After Linefeed 0
    Time Out Delay 2
    Initial D/L Time Out 0
End of Block Character M J
    X on Char Q
    X off Char S

    Code Type ASCII

I understand that you have to use another program but, the settings on the machine side will be the same. Just set the new program to the old settings.

You can use Predator and it will work with Windows 7 or 8. You might be hard to find a serial port on a new PC running Windows 7 or 8, so make sure you find the proper hardware.

USB or Ethernet to Serial devices work with the Heidenhain.

Set the machine parameters as noted, set Predator Editor as the same and send from the CNC back to the CNC Editor. Check to make sure the file is in tack and everything there. If not, check the drivers on the serial hardware as they generally are the problem.

If you get stuck, give me a ring.
