    Please Help Me Get Started

I purchased a 3020 machine off Ebay. One of those chinese made ones. I was able to set it up and install Mach3/Cut2d/Lazy Cam on a dedicated computer.

I am able to get the machine to respond to the manual key commands. My questions are as follows:

How do I set the table size and home position? When I send it home all the AXIS go beyond their limits I do not have home switches.
How do I load one of the sample files from cut2d into geode and publish in mach3? Then how to change the home position for the Job.

I appreciate everyones help. I have been looking at CNC for over 10 years and finally jumped in. I am getting frustrated and don't want to give up.

    Thanks,
    Evan

You don't really set a "table size". You can set Softlimits, which will limit the machines travel. But the limits are based on the Home position, and without home switches, you won't have a consistent home position.

You set your home position with the Ref All Home button. This will zero your machine coordinates at their current position.

To set the origin of your part, you move it to where you want the origin to be, and zero each axis.

I suggest watching the tutorial videos for Cut2D, as well as the Homing, Limits and Offsets video on the Machsupport website.

Re: Please Help Me Get Started

Ok, i have looked through the manual and watched several videos. I am making some progress but still have issues.

I ran a sample GCODE that came with Cut2d. A couple things. First I set zero for the z axis at the material. When I run the program it lifts and does not go down to rout the material.

The second is that the size of the design is roughly 3.5" x 3.5" and it routs tiny.

    Any advice?
