Hello. I run a diy router table to cut mostly 1/2in mdf parts. I am using a 1/8in downcut spiral bit with a 1/4in shank. I find that the top edge of the wood is cut nicely, but the bottom of the profile is pretty shaggy. I know this is basically what a downcut spiral bit does, but I wad wondering if I could limit it through speed and feed rates? What speed and feed do you guys profile cut mdf.

Also has anyone used a compression bit in this situation? How did it work? Does anyone know where I can get one with 1/8 in cut width, 1/4 in shank, and at least 1/2 in depth.

Thanks
