Re: Doosan Tech-Docs and Service Bulletins

How to tell if your lube lines are leaking, or distribution ports are malfunctioning, or if the pump is failing.

    If working correctly:

Watching the analog needle gauge during operation should show the following...
    1. The transition from A to 6 should be smooth.
    2. The slight pause at 6 to C as the ports charge.
    3. The transition from C to 16/E should mimic the smoothness of step 1
    4. E to F should hold pressure as long as the Lube-on timer is active.
    5. The transition from F to H should be rapid.
    6. Ever-so-slight needle slowing action at the end.

    Areas of issue:
    1. All timing transition take a long time.
    A. Pump is failing?
    i. remove main line from pump and plug off pump, then test
    a. If pump get to correct pressure immediately it is functioning.
    b. If pump is slow or does not make it to correct pressure = pump has issue.
    B. Leak in Main Lines
    i. Locate and repair leak in Main Line.

    2. Long pause at 6 to C (only)
    A. Sticky distribution port, closing slowly.
    i. Replace effected port assembly

    3. Long pause at 6 to C and long transition from C to E
    a. Issue with distribution port(s) remaining open (or broken)
    i. Replace effected port assembly

    4. E to F fluctuates of not correct (verify step 1.A.i.b.)
    A. Pressure regulator has issue.
    i. Adjust or replace regulator.

    5. Transition from F to H is slow
    A. Pressure relief valve plugged or faulty

If in doubt of the action, email me a video of the gauge when manually activating the lube pump.

Anything is possible, but we have no history of that happening, yet.

Note: we create them as "MATED" the 3 pieces are so precision that they are only used as a set. (also replaced as a set)

We probably do a very precise quality check on a part that only works if perfectly mated...

the reason I think it may b the curvic is because the turret is not 0 in the "z" axis . What do u think it might be . When I go to realign the turret indicationg across the turret in the "z" axis it is 0 on pocket 2 but 180 degrees from it the turret is out .004"

If you meant cylinder then this:
    Attachment 429802

if you are asking for a procedure for "replacing the...solenoid" they don't exist within Doosan...

    Here goes:

    1. Verify the replacement is correct.
    2. Take pictures and/or mark connections of previous unit.
    3. Remove previous unit.
    4. Install replacement unit.
    5. Verify the connections are correct.

How to use TRACE on a 16i, 18i, or 21i control.
TRACE allows for the recording of selected inputs and outputs, using various start-triggers and/or stop-triggers. Allowing I/O from before the alarm to be looked at, after the alarm.

Curvic couplings are precision mated three pieces. If repair is needed...replace it.

Why, exactly, do you need to clean or deburr your curvic?

Re: Doosan Tech-Docs and Service Bulletins

Because when I rotate my turret with an indicator on the back side it is fine but when indicating across the front where the tool block bolts to station 2 is within .001 going across in z axis but when I rotate turret to the opposite side it is out .004" I was told by my local tech from AMTTECH in Houston that I may need to polish the curvic coupling , that being the reason why it is running out
