Red face Help Choosing Break out Board/Power Supply

    Hi veverybody.
I have recently purchased a spg mill which is the same as the G070/BF20.
It came with machined motor mounts to convert to cnc
I have purachased Nema 23s for the X and Y axis and a Nema 34 for the Z axis.
I need some help and advice before buying a breakout Board / controller board.
Ebay is full of then and there are odd ones in the shops in the UK
One thing I cant get my head around is the Voltage and Current required by the power supply.
I know electrical and Electronics pretty well but all this leaves me totally lost

    Cheers

    Neil

Re: Help Choosing Break out Board/Power Supply

    Hi,

I just bought this one, I'll let you know how it works once I tested it. It should be here by Friday, latest, but I am not sure I'll have time to test it. Anyway, at that price there isn't much to think about, just buy one and test it. If you can wait and want to get it cheaper you can get the same for 7 or 8 USD including shipping, so no big deal if you happen to buy one which isn't working well. In my case, my drivers have opto couplers on all inputs, so the fact that this board has only opto couplers on the inputs is good for me. I don't know your drivers, they may not have opto couplers on the inputs, and in that case this board is not good for you.

Since you live in UK, maybe this for BOB: ZP5A-INT
They also have controllers etc etc.

For voltage, choose as high as or less than rated by the drivers. Current about X current + Y current + Z current..(Could be much less since it's rare that all axes are at 100% load at the same time)
