    Anodizing and brass..

    Hi guys,

I have a question I'm hoping someone on here can help me with.

I want to anodize an aluminum part, the issue is the part contains brass bushes pressed into blind holes, that I am having a lot of difficulty removing without damaging.

My question is will the brass cause problems if I anodize the part with the brass bushes. I know that sulphuric acid corrodes ferrous metals, but will it do the same with brass. Also will it affect the finish of the anodizing?

    Many thanks in advance.
    John.

It will contaminate the Anodizing process, the bushing will have to be removed, one way to get the bush out is to put a thread in it, relieve the front part of a bolt/screw & screw it in, Put a washer down at the bottom of the hole, then screwing the bolt/screw in will push/pull the bush out
