I am doing 4th-axis milling for the first time (noob alert, and I have only been milling on 3-axis for a year) and I ran into a problem with how to secure the workpiece.
The workpiece is 1.50" OD and 0.75" in length.
Initially I had thought that 1/4" all-thread going through the center would secure it if I place hex nuts on each end.
I was wrong. The bit (1/4" end mill) would sometimes rotate the workpiece when it was milling at the edges.
I now plan to have an integral rod and flange to screw into the workpiece to secure it.
Are there other ways to do this?
