    Water flow sensor

My question is simple , I bought a water flow sensor at lightobject.

I want that if there is no water flowing so it will cut the laser !
Is there someone who could tell me how to connect it, please ?

    Re: Water flow sensor

It is just a switch. When the water flows the contacts close, when no flow the contacts open. I bought a flow sensor some time ago from Light Objects and couldn't get it to work. I don't think the pump I had at the time had enough flow or pressure. I would test to see if it works before you install it in the unit. if you have a good pump be careful not to squeeze the lines in case the tubes break free and spray water everywhere. How to hook them up depends on the unit, but most units have a water sensor input.

Hello Mcbride19, this is Nolan from ThunderLaser, hope my suggestion can help you.
if there is no water flowing so water flowing, the machine will stop working. right? it's very easy, you can set it from the software.
For example, we use RDC6442G controller and RDWorksV8 software. about how to set it, please check the attached picture.
    Attachment 277490
I don't know what controller and software do you use, but I think you also can set it.
    Have a nice day.

    Re: Water flow sensor

Thanks all but what I need is the wiring diagram.

I just would like to know how to wire it to cut the laser if there is no water flow.

The software isn't important, it's the hardware that is the most important, it's the task of the hardware to cut the laser if there is no water flowing not the software.

@dean448: I'm going to test that before going further. thanks !

@Nolan Yang : i'm using moshidraw and moshilaser, this function is on your software, so it can't help me !

Hi, I was wondering if you ever found someone to provide a schematic for wiring the (3-wire) flow sensor? Thanks for any information!

It's probably a simple NC/NO/COM switch - do you have a multimeter that you can test it with? If so, you should just be abel to actuate the switch by hand, and see what each of the lines is doing as a result.

Yes, I figured all that out eventually..... You wouldn't by chance know the password for the AWC708c Light, would you ? If you do and can pass that on to me, that would be great!\\

    Thanks for your help.

At 5:57 here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wXy6...&t=0s&index=19 you have wiring for Ruida controller.
Note - it can be possible to connect water switch to HV PSU directly - but I have not done it yet and this can vary depend of model.

great! Thanks for the video. Helpful. Got it working finally. A lot of misinformation on the web regarding the HVPS connections to the various controllers. Got it worked out, though, with everyone's help.

    Re: Water flow sensor

Thanks for this! I have been searching for detail on how to connect my flow switch for a couple of days and then found this and the video is perfect information!! I have a home build 100W laser and I have constructed my own cooling system with exactly that type of switch but was confused by the connection detail in the controller manual where it refers to 24v logic. If they had said "Connect your NO switch between terminals GND and WP1" I would have known. Thanks again.
