HSD SPINDLE ES929 FAN COOLING OR COMPRESSOR AIR

I HAVE A TECHNO HDS CNC ROUTER HAS A HSD ATC SPINDLE.

CURRENTLY I AM USING ONLY ONE END MILL FOR CUTTING.
    AND NOT USING COMPRESSOR AIR.
BECAUSE NOT REQUIRED TO TOOL CHANGE.

MY QUESTION IS THE HSD SPINDLE IS COOL WITH ITS COOLING FAN OR IT ALSO NEED THE COMPRESSOR AIR ?

    THANK U.

    REGARDS.

The electric fan does the cooling, the compressed air for tool change...keeping things clean, but also for the mechanics of the tool clamping? If it works it works, cooling not an issue.

    THANK U FOR THE REPLY.

    U MEAN BY CLAMPING.

IS WHEN GOING TO TOOL CHANGE MANUALLY OR BY COMMAND IT REQUIRED THE AIR TO CLAMP TOOL IN SPINDLE.

    THANK U

You need the compressed air, it is used as a bearing purge.
Also, if you leave tool holders in there too long, they will get stuck, they must be exercised.

Thank u sir for the reply ur suggestions always helpful.

Sir last 4 month i am using the router without air.
    Will it harm the spindle?
Or now just i start using compressed air and it will be ok.

Another question is the manual tool release button light on the spindle is off.
When i noticed i connect the air and press the button to release its working but the light still off.

    Hello sir

As u say that the compressed air will keep the dust out of the bearings on the inside.

Is it possible that beacuse of not using air the dust is inside and beacuse of that the manual tool release button light is off?

    just an idea.

    Thank u.

Unlike my brother, I have an atc HSD spindle. It does have a minimum cfm rating on it but I've accidentally had it running with lower cfm and never an issue until pressure is low enough that the tool doesn't drop. Still, I'd hook it up to a little one at least as a $50 compressor is cheaper than a $5k+ spindle
In case anyone is wondering, I'm the twin of the other gfacer on cnczone...

Yes brother ur write. From today i will attach a compressor.

But my worries is their is any harm to the spindle?
The issue with manual tool release button light is due to the air because iam not using air so is their is dust inside?

Or it just the button bulb is went out.

    Thank u

I can't recall if mine lights up or not. I don't think it does, though it looks like it could. I think it's just a regular button.

The green light is just a lamp. They did not use an LED, they used an actual lamp, it burns out all the time. Do not worry about the light not working. It has no meaning other than that the bulb burned out.

Did you do damage? Maybe a little, it is still working, that's good. There's nothing you can do but use it until it does not work, then get it rebuilt. Perhaps it will last a very long time. I have seen people do far worse and have their spindles survive (water in the air lines is particularly terrible!)

Re: HSD SPINDLE ES929 FAN COOLING OR COMPRESSOR AIR

    Hello sir how are u?

Hmm a question is in my mind and i think u are the best to ask.

    A friend have a cnc router it 1.5 x 3 meters.
Xyz all exis 400 watts delta servo motors.
Fixed with shimpo japan reducer gear on y and x exis.
Hsd 929 atc spindle the weight is about 27 kg.

The 400 watts z exis motor enough to carry the spindle weight and work.

Question is the 400 watts servo motors enough power to work? Like cutting wood mdf 3d carving cutting aluminum.

Second is z exis when moving the spindle up make zzummmmm zummm sound.
    Is it normal?

The machine is working from 4 months.
we also check the temprature of the all exis servo motors after working about 4 hours with an ir temprature gun.

    X , y 40 celsius and z 45 Celsius.

    Kindly give ur suggestion

    Thank u.
