Motor/stepper issue : blocking, slowing down, being noisy

    Hi guys (and girls) !

I own one of the "cheap" x61500gt router, and I'm experiencing "small" issue with the steppers. I guess some of you experienced dudes may solve my issue easily

It happens sometimes (not very often, but something le like every hour) that one of the motor seems to get blocked and noisy.

Last time it happened was during a quick travel along X axis, and suddenly the speed of the travel reduced drastically while the motor was very noisy. I stopped everything, restarted mach3/stepper controller, and everything came back to normal.

It happens mainly on one of the axis (the longest one), and each time ruin the programm being performed, last time it ruined a 2h program 20 minutes before its end

Any clue that would led you toward electronic stepper driver, or motor itself ?

I heard some guys that may have solved by getting a schmitt trigger on the stepper command, to clear a little bit the square pulses.

I hope some of you have an idea about that.

By the way, thanks for reading and for your help !

    Cheers,

    Nicolas

Check to see that everything non-essential on your PC has been removed. I've had that happen when the computer started looking for Windows Updates; there are other hidden processes like that which can cause the same issues.

    Thanks for your reply,

    I'm gonna check that !

You think the computer / process slowing down could be the only issue here ?

If so, it would be great

Decrease the acceleration by 25%-50%, and see if it helps.
