I know replacing the stock bearings in the mini lathe with tapered roller bearings is a popular upgrade, and one I'm looking at right now.
However, my research shows that the commonly available 30206 tapered roller bearing is the basic grade K which has a total indicated runout of 0.0007", or over twice that of basic ABEC-1 ball bearings. I just wanted to see how people are dealing with that, or if you're actually searching out and buying high grade bearings (grade C to make a noticeable difference).
