What caused the first one to go bad?
If it wore out, then I would consider making my own. The replacement is likely the same grade material as the original. I use grade 8 threaded rod and coupling nuts. I bore through the nut and insert a roll pin. I find that it even has a better fit in the threads on the collet than the original DB.

Use a coupler nut and turn it to fit inside your spindle, thread it on and then thread on another and weld it to the threaded rod. That's what you will get from the other guy for 25.00- for the same price you could make 3 yourself.

Sometimes it is easier to buy than to make, however this is such a simple project that it takes virtually a few minutes work. You can be certain about the quality of the end result too. Not only that, but once you order the rod and nuts, you have future backup stock. I actually replaced my drawbar on my brand new machine when I received it. That way I know what it is made of.
