    laser suitable for 100mm plastazote/ethafoam/polyether

Im planning on doing an openbuilds ox build for a cnc to cut foam. I may havve some need to mill plywood as well - but that's a side issue for much further down the line.

Just curious if laser would be the right solution to cut plastazone/ethafoam/polyether or would a blade solution be more appropriate.

Would milling be suitable to cut this foam? if it is then it's probably a better solution as I can use it for plywood too.

I saw this video, where it uses a knife of very short travel - may just be on vibrate making short work of foam, creating little waste and using more of the material than milling would. What is this cutting type called in cnc speak?

    Any suggestions at all?

I have my open builds router set up with my milling machine but I really want to add laser functionality. My requirements have changed a bit now. I'm only looking for a laser to cut 30mm polyester foam. Does anyone know what sort of laser cutter I should be looking to get?
