Hello, I am a complete newb to CNC. Let me set this up so I can hopefully get an answer... I have a friend that manufactures kitchen cabinets. Cabinet design is done on Mozaik which produces a .anc file which is then sent to Alphacam to cut on a AES extreme 1640 router. That was a mouthful. His machine has only cut large sheets of plywood based on the cabinet design and the output from Mozaik.

I have a gcode file for a small project (12" x 12") that I would like to cut on his machine. They have only had the machine for a short time and are not sure how to proceed. He is also concerned that the gcode file may not contain the correct info for bit selection, depth of cut, etc. He doesn't want to damage the wasteboard.

My question is the following: Can Alphacam read gcode files and send directly to the router? Or, does the file need to be converted to .anc and then run on the machine?

Again, I am a complete newb and I hope I have explained myself. Thanks in advance
