Need advice on chinese machine (100W) - safest settings

what are the usual safest settings regarding the normal cutting power and speed? If I want the tube and motors last long, can I regularly work with power <20% and, 85%, and speed 100mm/sec (I often cut cardboard and that is why use high speed).

    YMMV

    My 2c.

1/ use a water chiller to maintain a steady water temp that never exceeds 21 celcius.

2/ stick to maximum 75% of RATED tube power, not PEAK tube power.

    3/ 300 mm/sec is fast enough

4/ take care of your optics and axes, clean and lube weekly whether they need it or not.... every few months check electrical connections etc

    -------------------

There is a limit to the benefits of a soft hand, even a never used disconnected tube will still die over time, so you don't want to kill it early, but you do want to get your use out of it... 1 hour at 50 watts is better than 10 hours at 5 watts, you make 10x as much stuff and earn 10x as much money.

FWIW I also let the tube and machine idle for 15 minutes after use, same with my cars, let them idle for a few minutes before and after driving.

I want add that you should not rely on your control panel guessing power settings. Use a ma meter (your machine may already have one built in)
My point is that with your control panel set at 100% power it may be putting out more than that.
Many people have stated units putting out 125% or more than the tube is rated for.. So be safe and double check everything before relying on anything.
Then do as Elaser says and run it under 100% Some folks say 85% is good and some say less than that.
Check with your tube manufacturers website if possible for their advice on your particular setup.
