    Cant get into the bios?

My Tormach computer wont turn on when I switch the power on at the machine and I have to push the power button on the PC. Needless to say this is very inconvenient and I want to change the settings, but I cant get in. Holding the F2 or del key doesn't get me in. Any ideas?

Some computers use F10, but you should see what key it is at start.

It used to display the keys but it doesn't anymore. Nothing seems to work. I had no issues getting into the bios before.

    G'day Gil,

I had almost exactly the same problem .... the ONLY way I could get around it was to hook up an old PS-2 keyboard and that worked.

Form what I've been told, it turns out that on some BIOS's they load the USB drivers after the BIOS has loaded,
which makes it very difficult to use the F2, F10 or Delete keys.

    Search the Linux CNC site.
Or better, ask Tormach who should... must be able to answer, since their coders would have been using the keystroking frequently at some stage.

I tried a different USB keyboard and it worked. Thanks! Its nice not to have to duck under machine stand to turn the machine on. Too bad the the Tormach keyboard was the thing giving problems.
