We are very proud to announce the release of the our new rotary engraving tool. If you have one of our very popular diamond drag engravers, then you know the quality and performance you can expect. This new tool differs from the diamond drag tool in a few select ways. First the drag tool is designed to be run with the spindle off, dragging the diamond across the material leaving the engraving behind. This new tool is designed to run with the spindle on but shares the same spring loaded concept. With the spring loaded design you can engrave very uneven surfaces while retaining a constant engraving depth. This is accomplished by the pressure applied of the internal spring. This can save valuable setup time from traditional engraving. Normally you would need to indicate the surface to be engraved to ensure a perfectly parallel surface to achieve a nice flat engraving. With the spring loaded design, that is no longer necessary. The spring tension can be adjusted from the back side of the tool to accomplish a deeper, or shallower engraving. Each tool will be supplied with a standard spring, but a heavier spring is available to purchase.

The tool has a very compact overall size, as you can see from the pictures, it’s very small. The tool shank size is 1/4″ to fit the smallest of areas.

The tool comes standard with a .0625″ (1/16″) ball mill specifically designed to work with this tool. However there are other options for cutters. Right now we are currently stocking three different size ball mills and three different angle chamfer-mills. We are also offering custom tools that can be ground to your specific needs upon request.

The ball mills consist of .0312″ (1/32″); .0625″ (1/16″); and .125″ (1/8″). The chamfer-mills come in 60°, 90°, and 120°. The ball mills will leave a radius, where the chamfer-mills will leave a “V” profile. Both leave very nice crisp engravings.

We will be adding some more engraving pics and videos shortly.
