    Question MX4660 kit

To those that have purchased the MX4660 kit which includes the steppers, MX4660 and the power supplies, did it include connecting cable? I didn't see anyplace on the website to determine what size if any came with it. I am going to upgrade my "Warthog" cnc which has the old Anaheim Automation controller. I plan on buying the MX-P434-595 : 4-Axis NEMA 34 CNC Stepper Kit. 595 Oz-In NEMA 34 Motors with 1/2'' (12.7mm) Single Shaft; 4-Axis MX4660 Stepper Drive; 48 VDC/10.4A Power Supply.

Thanks for any inputs you have.

PS I have sent 2 email to sales with no response.

    Hi Bryan
I am john ,the application engineer of leadshine .
Normally ,the kit don't include connection cable . i think you must buy the cable from the market by yourself .and the wire size is AWG22.
By the way ,which salesperson did you contact from leadshine ?

    Hello John,
I have been told that I can not feed 2 ea PSU 4810 into one MX4660, it will damage the driver. Let me know how to increase Amps to support for 4 motors 86HS45. I am afraid if not enough power to drive the motor.
I thought that we can make 2 ea PSU 4810 in parallel to feed to driver will be no problema.

John, thanks for the inputs, I sent emails to '[email protected]' which I finally received a response yesterday, I had also sent an email to '[email protected]' and I had also sent an info request for information via the web form. On this cable does it need to be shielded? I would assume so. I assume that the motors just have a section of wires coming out with no connector....

I would think that the best way would be to go to 4 smaller ones for each motor. The MX4660 is rated at 10a with 12a peak. 2 4810's would exceed the capacity of the 4660. Are you sure that the 86HS45's don't need individual drivers instead of the 4660?

I have talked by email to their engineer that 1 ea PSU 4810 is enough to drive 4 ea 86HS45. So I actually have bought them, and I will try them when they arrived. If something wrong, motor not move then I will go with lower power motor.

Don't you mean the Leadshine kit power supply is rated at 48v 10a with 12a peak?

    Can't the MX4660 be run from a big power supply like 1000w 48v 21amps?

    like:

    Dear All
you can not make 2 ea PSU 4810 in parallel to feed to driver ,that will damge drive .
It only support 1 ea power supply.the MX4660 has two power inputs ,but these should be from the same power supply .and if you have 4 motors connect to drive ,these two power inputs should be connected(the two power input can be from different leads from the same power supply ) . please note that MX4660 only can be feed 1 power supply .if power supply like 1000w 48v 21amps,it can be feed to MX4660 ,but it should connect to 2 power inputs of MX4660 .

    Re: MX4660 kit

As I am finalizing my decision one question came to mind, do I need to make a special DB25 cable to connect to it or will a standard DB25 work? Will it hurt the system to make the stepper control cables out of 18awg cable? Does the cable need to be shielded?

    Thanks

    Hi Bryan
The DB25 cable is standard parallel cable for printer , i think you can find it from your market .
    Attachment 286032
The cable for motor is not necessary to buy a shielded cable ,the normal one is ok \
And if the wire size is too small ,it will be broken .

Thanks for the input, I just looked and if I buy the kits its included. On the subject of wire size, the 18awg is larger than the 20/22awg you and your salesman suggested.

    Re: MX4660 kit

FYI, I just got email from John said that all output on MX4660 is 20 khz. What does it means? It is too slow?
I read on manual that output #1 thru #4 is 200 khz and output #5 and #6 is 20 khz. There will be new MX4660 released soon according to the email.
