Try to find parameter 14885. If present, set bit1=1. The soft version can be seen on SYSTEM-SYSTEM

DNC via ethernet is an option. if you don't have the option you won't see that parameter or have that functionality.
either way, if the function was only available from the middle of March 2015, you are unlikely to have it unless you bought your machine new within the last 3 months.....

for software version, as stated above, press SYSTEM hard key then SYSTEM soft key. software version is available there by using page up/page down to find the screen with software versions.
