    citizen a32 S3 alarm

new to forum, gotten lots of help from here from previous posts so now im hoping i can find an answer to the issue im having now. first and foremost i am self taught so sorry if there are some things i dont know or dont understand. i have written several programs for our a32 and many for our haas machines so i have a pretty good understanding, just no schooling in my background.

so here is the issue im having, the program i am currently running is 1018 1 1/4" bar. first it put a radius on the end of the bar, then goes to T7 which is running a 11/32 4FL endmill to mill a flat on one side about .15 deep in multiple passes, then to T8 running a 19/64 4FL coated endmill to mill a slot parallel to the previously mentoined flat. the issue im having after running 315 parts is as soon as it gets to position point for T7, when S3 should be starting spin i get an alarm of "S01 S3 overspeed 0031". S3 is supposed to be running at 5,000rpm. so i tried dropping rpm's to 4500 and it still does the same thing. has run fine for 300+ parts just started doing thids last night before i left for the day. i took the cover off od the S3 drive motor- nothing looks abnormal. i can spin live tools by hand and the spin freely, no different than any other time of setting up or taking down, and they all move in unison with eachother.
any help is GREATLY appreciated as i cannot afford to have this machine down longer than it already is since we are behind by 3 weeks.
    thanks,
    mike

    Re: citizen a32 S3 alarm

on the a32's that i program and set up i have found that the rotary's do not like the 5000 rpm they are actually rated to be 4000 rpm continuous and that 5000 rpm is the max limit that they can go.
also t7 is the 1/2 speed so that programing 4000 gives you 2000rpm but a higher torque value
i would try the 4000 rpm first
if you don't want the reduction in rpm try t8-t10
