    Arrow 500 tool change height

    Good afternoon

I have a Arrow 500 with the Control Techniques
Control . Just had the z axis motor repaired ,
Brake was bad but resolver good . My tool change
Height number for the z axis is off now . Does anyone
have the correct procedure for realigning the tool change height ? If so that would be a big help . It has the 21 tool
    indexer.

    Thanks
    Mark

    Take a look

Setting the Tool Change Height on an Arrow VMC with a Control Techniques FNC Control

    1) Change the display to metric by pulling down the setup menu (#3), selecting option 1-Display Metric/Inch and select metric (mm). Use the Machine/Work softkey to change the position display to machine coordinates.
    2) Power up and align the machine. Jog Z axis to the top of it's travel.
    3) Enter the diagnostic mode by pressing CTRL and D at the same time. Activate the drop-down menus and select MTB mode (the password is CM in capital letters).
    4) Select MTB Diagnostics and then PLC NV Parameters. Add 15 to the value in NV parameter #23. Make sure to press the Data Entry key to commit the change (this will allow the z axis to move with the tool drum at the spindle position).
    5) Select the Jog mode and press the operator panel softkey. Jog the tool drum to the spindle. Place a tool holder (without a pull stud) in the drum and position it under the spindle.
    6) Use the handwheel to lower the Z axis over the tool until the tool drum just barely starts to deflect downward. Record the current Z axis machine position (in metric).
    7) Return the z axis to the top of it's travel and park the tool drum.
    8) Enter the diagnostic mode again (CTRL-D). Select MTB Mode, MTB Diagnostics, PLC NV Parameters from the drop down menus.

    9) Enter the recorded Z axis tool change position in the NV parameter 01 (labeled ATC-DOWN-POS). NOTE: this value must be entered in Microns (= Z axis position x 1000).
Press the Data Entry key to commit the new value.
( the value should be around -120000)

    10) Remove 15 from NV parameter #23 and press the Data Entry key to commit the change.
