Initial want is for something that can engrave onto wood turned pens, but if feasible I'd like to also be able to use it to cut / engrave other small pieces. Or are these 2 different machines?

Any equipment recommendations would be greatly appreciated. I am in North Carolina.

dear, the machine you are looking for is one laser machine with rotary .

dear normal co2 laser engraver like LG3040,LG500,LG6040 etc with rotary all ok to finish your work.
and how thick oyu will cut ? your objects size ?/ dear tell this then ok to know which model is suitable for you /.

Are you in the states if so I'd look at Rabbit Laser USA their machines will do both at a reasonable cost and they have good support.
