    Safe slave axis question

Well on my build someone mentioned that I should step away from slave axis of my x due to safety.

I'm running 600oz servos on 5mm lead screws and wondering if there is a safe way to slave this axis without using belts etc. I guess the big reason would be if motor 1 stops turning, and motor 2 continues turning with all it force, things are going to break. My question is, with a closed loop system of servos, is there a way for the machine to estop if this occurs and the machine starts racking? Is this a software deal or a harware deal? I'll be running smooth stepper ethernet with a c23 board.

If 1 motor stops turning, the drive will fault. This should trigger an estop, and kill power to all the drives.
Since you're building the machine, it's up to you to set it up to do that.

Ok so this isn't a very hard thing to fix. Some settings in the software etc?

No, not entirely a software setting.
You can have the drives fault signal trigger an estop in the software, but it also should kill the power, and be independent of the software.
