    Need help with Toolpaths...

Trying my luck at Aspire and having some problems with tool paths and the model I've designed... its a dished model.

After creating a roughing tool path it appears to me that the milling starts above the model and I'm not sure where or how to set it to "Z" Zero.

Can anyone confirm this for me from the images I've attached?

I'm assuming that the "Red" line indicates Z zero in the model, green lines Z up and Z Down and the blue lines X and Y movement.

The Red is your safe z travel height I believe. You set the Z zero on the first material setup page, either top or the bottom of the material. Take a look at the tutorial they are much help.

    Thanks for the post...

I ran a test piece last night and it seems to have come out correctly.. I think you are correct, the "Red" line was the Safe Z.

    Adam,
Correct the 'RED' is your Safe Z at whatever distance you entered for the toolpath. And yes, actuall 'Z0' is from the part face or bottom.
