solidcam editing postprocessor and diameter for compensation question

Hi again, I've got couple of more questions about solidcam,

    1) how to edit postprocessor to add this line
    G90 G17 G40 G80 G00 G49
    N572 M06 T13 ()
    instead of this one
    G90 G17 G40 G80 G00
    N572 M06 T13 ()
before every tool change and at the end of program before g91 g28?
the difference is in the G49 which our machine needs to cancel length compensation before going to home position and change tools.

    2) how to turn coolant on and off on every tool change?

    3) when I use different tool diameters for the same tool in different operations, lets say T1 uses D1 for contouring and same T1 uses D31 for 18H7 hole finishing, the postprocessor will make a mistake and add a G41 before
lowering tool to 0 level, so this is what the line would look like
    G1 D31 Z0 F1000
    instead of
    G1 Z0 F1000

and under that the next line would be "normal"
    G41 D31 Y0 F400
    as it should be

it will make that mistake only for the hole number one, not for any other following hole.

    4) how to program on more than one coordinate systems in same cad model without the next mac changing my working offset from G54 to G55?

for example I use one coordinate system with 3 operations.
Then I add another coordinate system and it uses 4 more operations, these 4 operations will be under G55, but I want them to be under G54 as well, how can I do that?

    thanks in advance.

Re: solidcam editing postprocessor and diameter for compensation question

Everything you need to know is in the GPP help files that come with SolidCAM.

The first thing to do is activate the trace command in your post-processor file (*.gpp) to see what the CAM is passing to the post and what the post is doing with it. After that it is pretty much plain sailing if you read the help files and study the logic laid out in you your post.

If you don't want to have a go yourself, talk to your reseller. They will help you out.

    Good luck

Re: solidcam editing postprocessor and diameter for compensation question

    Hello,

I want to modify a turning postprocessor, and at tool info, if I put to read tool_diameter for drill, it always generate with 0 value.
Also thread tool and tap have the same tool_type, how can I difference them in turning.
if I write tool_type 12 with message THREAD TOOL for a threading tool, solidcam generate the same info as for a Tap.

Wait for an answer soon as possible.

    Thanks.
