    Latest Project

I have had PartMaster for a couple of months now and I have most of it figured out, but I am continuing to learn new tricks all the time, I know that this doesn't seem like a big deal for all of you seasoned veteran machinist but to an old guy like me it is. I now have the FONTS thing working and Clear Area involving Islands working. This chunck of scrap 6061 was cut with a 5/32" 2 flute end mill running at 2600 rpm (fastest my mill can go) at 8 imp with cool mist. I made 3 passes at .016" depth for all total depth of .050" just to see if I could do it. I will start making parts when I get done playing.

Looks really great Jack. It feels so good when things come out like you plan! I'm definitely not a seasoned machinist & would really be chuffed to make that part.

I would be honored to have it on your website, should I email a hi-res pic along with permission to publish to you or can you get it from right here?

Very cool! Congrats on that. I would hang that too! So did you pull in a dxf of this? I was not sure what you meant by fonts? I use engrave often and I pull in work as dxf to area clear also. I like to use the cad to pull in and auto create the contours. Then use cam with the go-round and cut like group numbers. Helps to reduce the cam work to near zero. Goes fast for contour engraving. I have a post here somewhere from Andre on how to do it. Really great group here. Post more stuff pls!

Instead of FONTS I should have said TEXT as in the Text Button on the top tool bar. I can pick a font and type in what I want and then place it where I want it. Then Select it as contours and go from there.
