    Fanuc embedded ethernet

    Hi All,

I am trying to connect with Fanuc ladder iii using the ethernet port on the front of the Oi-MD control. Typically i just use a memory card to transfer PMC changes, but I want to connect with my PC. There is an ethernet cable connected to the control from the access panel port so I would figure this is usable.
It is not working any way I try..
I will describe the setup I am using and wonder if anybody has done this?

    Parameter 0020- 9 (embedded ethernet)
Parameter 14880- bit 0=0 (embedded ethernet port used)
I set my laptop to IP address 192.168.60.20
I set my laptop subnet address 255.255.255.0
I select embedded ethernet port on CNC (common) softkey IP of CNC already set to 192.186.60.10 subnet 255.255.255.0. No router IP.
I am connecting directly with a crossover ethernet cable.
    FOCAS2
The port number TCP is 8193
    The port number UDP 0

My Fanuc ladder IP communication is set up to 192.168.60.10 to see the CNC.
When I try to connect I am in the POS screen.
When I try to connect It says connecting for like 20 sec then disconnect.
The task status screen under PMC shows W then D then when it disconnects it goes back to X.

Can anybody see what I am missing??

    Thank You!!

How did you fix? I have never been able to connect via Ethernet but never really had time to play

    Re: Fanuc embedded ethernet

I had to set my laptop IP differently than the CNC controller. CNC and Fladder need same octet. But for CNC to recognize the PC it needs a different octet. Also there is a setting in the Communication screen for use with 232. But says nothing about ethernet. You just need to disuse 232 and use high speed. Why couldn't they label it embedded ethernet high speed is beyond me. Lol.
