    --Unlocking Path Pilot--

    Hey There,

I am interested in purchasing Path Pilot for my 2 Tormach 1100s both running series 3 upgrades and running ar X and Y at 200 IMP and Z at 100. I need to unlock Path Pilot and dial in my motor configurations manually. Tormach has told me NO WAY will we tell you how.

I am not about to slow my machines down from these setting in Mach 3, but would like the benefits P.P. has. Need to unlock it---HOW?

    Thanks very Much,

Ask TurboStep, he has his machine running at 157 ipm. My impression is that he didn't have to unlock anything, just edit a config file.

    Thank-you,

Was hoping to keep at least 200 IPM, but thats heading in the right direction.

    Isn't PathPilot just LinuxCNC?

Pretty sure there isn't any kind of "unlocking". The entire configuration is sitting behind the ~operator/tmc softlink and can be edited with vi existing on the distro.

If you don't know what that means, then it's going to be tougher to reconfigure the system, but (once installed) nothing is encrypted / locked / hashed or otherwise.

Ok---I was putting off buying it because I didn't want to slow down the machines from what I can run in Mach 3. I would sure like to hear what improvements anyone has had once they converted.

    Thanks very Much,

I "unlocked mine" by hitting Alt+shift at bootup. Then finding the correct config file.
