G540 Input issue - Spindle Index Opto Interrupter

I am having issues getting my opto interrupter interfaced to the G540 and Mach3.

I had no problem with NC limit switches.

With the opto, I get 5.15V normal and when triggered I get .69V across the signal and ground connections. It is powered from the USB port.

But, when I connect to the Gecko, I get 8.46V and 2.34V.

I just don't understand how this happens, I cant get Mach 3 to recognise any triggering.

I checked wiring in the controller and signal is going to pin 1 on the Gecko and ground goes to Gecko pin 12.

Would anyone know what I have done wrong???

    All fixed.

I just used a 12v power supply from an old hub, and it worked perfectly.

I am sure it is over voltage, but if it dies I have 3 more!
