Exclamation Okuma Captain Live Tool Hex Sub Spindle

    Hi,

I am trying to cut a hex on my Okuma Captain L370-MW sub spindle with a live tool end mill. The code works perfectly on the main spindle but keeps giving me an (MCS Diff Over) alarm on the sub spindle. I am wondering if I am missing a code to make it work on the sub. Any body know how to solve this problem. I have posted the code I am using. Please help.

MCS-Diff Over usually means too much load on the spindle. Take a smaller cut or slow down the feed

I don't see anything wrong with the code. I usually use a G95, and feed in "inches per rev" so I don't have to do the math to see how many inches per minute I should be feeding. F10 might be slow on an actual mill, but that may be too much on the lathe.

Which axis is the Diff over related to? If it is the Sub spindle, then BudgieW is right and your load is too high. It appears that your are taking a 3/4" depth of cut, what are the loads on your axes? What size tool are you using?

Have you checked clearances to make sure you are not hitting / rubbing anywhere? I've seen that way too many times causing the Diff over alarm exactly when it should...

    Best regards,
