    Kflop Driver issues

Backstory: I was not hired until the 2014-15 school year. In the spring of 2013 our school ordered a 4x10 k2cnc with a kflop control device and RhinoCAM software. The person who ordered it took another job so when k2 came to install nobody was present so they just plugged all the hardware in and left it. Then from some research i discovered that the actual software was not loaded until the spring of 2014, just before I came into the picture. There is a big window where things could have gone wrong and my only experience is in using an already installed shopbot when I was in college, but have never set one up myself.

So earlier this last spring we reinstalled the software because they only loaded the trial version of rhinocam before and i was not able to post process, but before we did that I was able to manually jog the machine through kmotion, but after I was no longer able to and found out the drivers for kflop have mysteriously disappeared. I cannot seem to obtain the drivers anywhere. I have followed some directions from the kflop install info page, but am stuck because the "found new device hardware wizard" will not open on my windows 8 computer. Attached is an image of some of my frustrations. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

You will need to turn off driver signature enforcement to install the drivers on Windows 8 on up. Here is link on that http://www.isunshare.com/windows-8/h...8-and-8.1.html

    Re: Kflop Driver issues

Turned off driver signature enforcement using the second procedure through the command prompt, restarted the computer, but found new device hardware wizard still didn't show.

However, through a different route, I was able to open some similar dialog boxes that did the same thing as FNDHW, but once I located the USB Drivers it gave me another error message telling me that the drivers loaded were corrupted and that I would need to contact the manufacturer's support services, but dynomotion support sends me here. I feel like I'm on a wild goose chase. FMLAttachment 294830

Last suggestion got me another step forward, so if anyone can give me hints where to go from here that would be great.

Another question which is my last resort would be if anyone knows of any specialists within the chicago land area that can come out and give me a hand.

just opened the info file and found this... Attachment 294834 If what I am reading is true, does anyone know if there is another version of kflop that I am not seeing that is compatible with windows 8?

    Re: Kflop Driver issues

I do not believe the driver has a hash because it is not a signed driver. When disabled the signature enforcement it is valid only for one boot of the machine. It looks like signature enforcement may have still been on or the driver file was corrupted. You can download kmotion here Dynomotion Motion Control Boards for CNC Manufacturing and Robotics Applications You may try again and once booted with signature enforcement disabled and the kflop plugged in, go to the device manager and find the kflop, right click and select properties, then click on update driver, click the lelt me choose location and point it to C:\KMOTION\USB DRIVER . If I were local I would be glad to help you out out but I am few states away.

Okay, so I got disable driver sign to work, updated the drivers, Now I am having trouble updating kflop firmware.

How do you open the configure/flash screen. Whenever I do the "run kmotion432" it just wants to reinstal and i cannot find any other options.

For the note, you have been extremely helpful thank you so much so far!!!

    Hi mpendergrass,

Sorry to hear of your troubles. I hadn't noticed this Thread as I only monitor our KFLOP/Dynomotion cnczone forum closely.

After you install the software there should be some Start Menu Dynomotion entries to run KMotion. Otherwise if you installed into the default directory you can just double click:
    C:\KMotion432\KMotion\Release\KMotion.exe

After you get KMotion.exe to run and connect here are some further instructions on our wiki.
    Updating KFLOP Firmware - Dynomotion

Note we don't have any official information how K2CNC built or configured the systems they built, but typically we have found they Flash special user Programs into KFLOP. Be aware that flashing new Firmware into KFLOP will erase any such programs. Is there a reason that you wish to update software instead of first getting whatever Version was working before?

    HTH

    Re: Kflop Driver issues

Long story, but to my knowledge the machine has never run in the first place and wasnt able to run once i got hired on which is why I am trying new avenues. I am also a full time teacher, so i am only able to spend about 2 hours a week on this which is why my progress has been slow. Tech services straight up told me they couldnt help me with it so i am on my own. any recommendations, suggestions I will take.

    Hi mpendergrass,

That is an unfortunate situation. K2CNC is out of business. If you don't know what components you have and how things are wired it will take much reverse engineering. Search your disk file for configuration programs that may work or give clues. The first step would be to figure out if you have steppers or servos. Here are some other threads from others that were in a similar situation. They may or may not help.

Configuration for they axis types and wiring for KFLOP is performed with C Programs. You might read this from our wiki:
