On Monday, we had a Amplifier not equipped alarm(16). We turned off the machine, powered it back up with no issues. I looked at the spindle drive and it showed a E7 NC Emergency.

The next day we had the same issue. The machinist did the same process but the alarm came up again. So he decided to press the Diagnostic soft key which put the machine into e-stop. We then lost all parameters and the machine threw multiple alarms. This time the spindle drive showed a 27 CPU Error.

44 Parameter error
16 Amplifier not equipped
85 Spindle Control (CPU) Malfunction
204 Spindle Control Malfunction
5 Illegal System Parameter
128 E stop
442 Data renewal not allowed
585 Cable NIS-Connected

I imagine these alarms are based off the parameter error problem. I have FR-SF Transistor check procedure and the transistors are ok. I also Megged out the motor which is ok.

The spindle drive is a FREQROC FR-SF-2-18.5k and the control is a Mazatrol T32B.

The machine was built in 1995 and we had the spindle drive replaced in 2006. I have talked to a couple people and one thinks it is the spindle drive while the other thinks it has to do with my motherboard/main memory.

Any thoughts on this?
