    Re: G76 doesn't work

    this is part of it

    G0 x29.9 z5
    G76 p010160 Q50 R0.05
    G76 x28.160 z-30. R0. P920 Q2000 F1.5

should there be dot after p920?
first pass goes x29.700 and the
second one at x28.1 if i remember
correctly, problem is that it should
    do more passes.

Replace Q2000 by Q200, for more passes.

The P address is the Height of the Thread Form. You will get this information from books listing Thread Specifications such as Machinery's Handbook.

The Q address specifies the Depth Of Cut for the first threading pass. This value will vary depending on the rigidity of the workpiece setup and other factors. Because the algorithm that calculates each new depth of cut uses this First Depth Of Cut as the base number, the Q value should be made as great as the Threading Insert and the Workpiece rigidity can tolerate.

    Regards,

    Bill
