Trying to get the Viper BX7 to work

Hello all! trying to get the breakout board BX7 to work with a VFD, Just cannot figure it out? upon sending the command from Mach say S1000 =10v is OK and S500=5v ETC..Fine, but trying to turn on and off a 12v relay is a NO GO! Anyone have a BX7 with any success? Any help is greatly appreciated.
