Profile Toolpath - Cut width other than bit diameter?

For some projects I have used CamBam. In the profile tool menu you can specify a Cut Width. E.g. if you have a 3mm bit and set Cut Width to 4mm the bit will go around the profile a second time and open up the cut to 4mm. This is very useful as it makes removing chips a lot easier. I have, unsuccessfully, been looking in V-Carve for the same feature. The only work around I have been able to come up with is to define a second profile and offset that 1mm.
    Anyone have a better/smarter idea?
    Thanks.

Set your profile up so it needs to make 2 passes to get to the depth you want, but have the first pass make nearly a full depth pass.
Then check the Last Pass box and set an allowance.

This is assuming you want to cut the full depth in one pass. If you're making multiple passes, then the passes can be whatever you want, and the final pass will be the offset pass, like a cleanup pass.

I've never seen any other software that had a Cut Width option like your talking about.

Mastercam allows multiple side passes, depth passes, or both. Alphacam does as well. I've never used v-carve so can't say for it.

You can create a profile in which cutting move one millimeter, once completed you double the profile you created and this, you only have to change the displacement, all other parameters are the same

Yep what jmplug said, offset the vector n make a second toolpath to run first. Or simpler set the tool diameter larger than actual dimension on first pass and then set at true diameter for final pass.
