My 3D printer is an important part of my shop

I do love me homemade 3D printer! I've made so many parts for my shop machines such as end stop covers on my cnc mill, prototyped a new bearing conversion for the compound slide on my mini lathe before going to metal, created material holders for round bar for my mill, and tonight.... An adapter to use the dro from my mini mill on the mini lathe so I no longer need to guess the drill depth on a piece.

    You're not alone.

Mine's home assembled (it's a Rostock Max V1), not home made. But I find it's pretty fantastic for belting out proof of concept stuff, utility type items whose strength and precision aren't screamingly demanding, and some parts which can be treated as castings and machined to finish.

So much time saved, so much money saved on tooling to reach specific things, so much fun had.
