New user, just finished a CNCRP 48 x 96 router. While squaring the gantry I have cut several squares to check for 90 degree corners. I've noticed that the finished cut size is smaller then the drawing size. I create the file in CAD, export to dxf, and open in VCarve. VCarve shows the job size is correct to the CAD file I drew. I select the bit size of a 1/4" end mill with 'outside / right' machine vectors. The cut part comes out to 1/2" under the correct size? Am I supposed to use Allowance Offset as standard practice? I would assume if VCarve knows the bit size, it would auto-compensate to cut to the outside of the part for the right dimensions.
I would have posted to the Vectric forum, however I'm awaiting admin approval to the forum. Jim
