hello i have a 2 yr old 7x16 lathe that has stopped working

the control board is around $100 to fix or $190 for a new one. I was wondering is there any other cheaper way to control the brushless 500 watt motor?

You could look for a A-M-C, Copley Controls or a Aerotech BLDC motor controller on ebay if there is no separate Power supply on the M/C then you would need one with the P.S. included.

Or you could contact Groschopp to see what replacements they might offer. Could change it out to a fractional hp small frame AC motor and drive.. But would cost a bit more.. But it would be a much stronger motor and better control.
