I have a Topwell 3-axis CNC mill model 5BVKS purchased used in 2003 (built in 1996 by H.H.Roberts Machinery) with an Anilam 3000 controller. Over the last 10 years I've invested about $10,000 in repairs to upgrade it and keep it going. This mill works well as long as I keep up the maintenance. I just replaced a spindle motor controller ($2400). I want to cut my losses and buy a new Haas CNC mill. How best to justify a replacement? I work for a company that demands last minute assembly/test/production/ fixtures, prototype pieces, one offs, and last minute rework when a vendor /supplier screws up and we have no recourse but to turn parts around immediately to make ship dates. The CNC mill has saved our ass repeatedly. Any thoughts to help me justify a new CNC mill will be helpful.
Thanks
