Hi everyone

We have a 2002 HAAS VF2. Since we purchased it last June we have run it no more than six times and it ran well. Yesterday I ran a fly cut program on it and once the program had finished and the axis returned home, Alarm 157 appeared and will not clear. I've checked inside the cabinet and there are no orange LEDs and all the red LEDs are lit including the green pass LED. I've checked all the connections on the MOCON board whilst wearing an anti-stat band and they all seem fine. Is there likely to be a simple solution or will I have to buy a new MOCON board. I'm guessing the 102 Servos off Alarm is due to the machine not being able to fire up because of the 157 Alarm.

Probably need a new Mocon and yes the 102 pops up any time the servos are off such as in alarm state. Funny thing is i had one that threw up the same alarm, then i switched the mocon board with an older machine which doesnt have the Haas vector drive and the board works in the older machines. The old machines with Magnatek and Mitsubishi spindle drives control most of the spindle controls through the IO/PC board and not the mocon. Worth a try if you have any of the older models around.

Thanks for replying. I've had a look at the HAAS UK website and the boards are around £889 plus the engineer to fit (as it says Requires installation by an HFO). Getting a quote for an indy company to repair which they provide warranty for the whole board not just the part they fixed.
