Does any one use, or have you used Amerea-seiki lathes? the company I work for is looking at a new lathe with live tolling and the owner is leaning towards a Amera-Seiki machine. The guys that have to use it are just wondering about the quality since none of us has heard of this brand before. thanks for any input.

Amerea-seiki is very good machine and very realiable, compare these machines to Mori and Okuma. Just make sure where you live have a good service when you need the most.
The best way to learn is trial error.

I have never used one i have heard they are good machines but not sure. Compare there prices and quality to the daewoo i 4 daewoo lathes and they are great machines and very well pricedindividual who perceives a solution and is willing to take command. Very often, that individual is crazy.

amera seiki DTM 40
does any one have any experience on this machine. Are they reliable?
Is the controll pretty nice? xyz moves are jerky... not jerky? any quirks I should know about?

Ha, that is the first thing I thought of too when I saw Ameri-Seiki.
As for the machines, always consider the country of origin when trying to determine how good the machine is.
