Festo is looking for a Lead Machinist to oversee their 2nd shift machining operations. We’re a global company, new to the Mason area, and offer exciting opportunities to work in a collaborative team environment. As a 2nd shift Lead Machinist, you will ensure that machining and cutting of piston rod and cylinder barrels is appropriately allocated and performed to quality and ISO 9000 standards. You will machine parts (primarily CNC lathes), write and edit programming and perform set ups. Additionally, you will oversee employee time recording, attendance and provide feedback regarding employee performance, including training. We are constantly look for ways to improve our process. Our training is extensive and your input is valued!

Bring your positive attitude and ability to lead and motivate your team, as well as:

• Associate’s degree (preferred) and minimum 2-3 years’ machining experience, specifically CNC lathes; including 3 years supervisory experience
• Experience with Fanuc controls is a must!
• 2 years’ writing and editing programming experience, utilizing MasterCam and G&M code
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics, including assembly drawings
• SAP experience strongly preferred
• Lean Six Sigma and 5S experience strongly preferred, Experience in an ISO 9000 preferred
• Ability to ensure a safe work environment at all times
• Ability to sustain our fast paced environment – you’re never bored!
• Strong communication skills and professionalism to effectively work with a collaborative team
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to follow directions
• Must be able to be on your feet for 8 hours and lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work 2nd shift hours of 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm, with some potential overtime, based on workload

Yes, many companies are now looking for an Associates degree for their machinist positions. With the complexities of today's manufacturing, the degree can be an indicator of the level of skill. Many current machinist positions do require a higher level of skill than in the past.
