I have a V2XT with a DX-32 control. It is still all the original setup. It is giving me a FDD failure on startup. It will not boot past the error. What do I need to do?

Is this DOM (disk on module) or actually a hard disk drive? You might be able to install a new hard disk if it is the latter. Hopefully you have back-ups. Otherwise BPT Parts has preconfigured SSD drives and new motherboards reasonably priced. My motherboard battery wend dead a while ago for me and I replaced everthing with stuff from BPT.
I've heard about a trick that sometimes works that has you put the damaged hard drive in a ziplock into the freezer to get it to boot long enough to make a back-up of parameter files.
