    Colchester Tornado Fanuc 21i-t

    Hi guys,

    I have a Cholchester Tornado lathe with a Fanuc 21i-t control and i would like to communicate it to my pc. I have a rs232 and a PCMCIA port.
    What exactly do i need to make this possibly. I have complete book about the machine but nothing about the control. Can someone please help me.....Thanks

    parameter 20 is set to zero for rs232 and to 4 for pcmcia memory card

    You have RS232 port on your PC? If not, you can buy a PCMCIA to Serial adapter (Quatech or SIIG are good sources), and either buy or make a DB25M to DB9F cable per the attached diagram to go between them.

    You'll need a communications program (some use Hyperterminal) or you can download a couple of free ones from the web (CADEM and OneCNC offer them).
