PP with 770 soft limits and limit switches?

I just got a new 770 recently and seems like Path Pilot soft limits are outside of the Y xis limit switches?

I reference X, Y and Z, but when I jog Y down (table moves up), the hard limit switches are triggered and causes me to have to reset PathPilot and re-reference Y axis??

ALL the other axis soft limits are fine, just Y- doesnt work..

    any ideas?

The PCNC770 has a specified y travel of 7.5" which is where the soft limit is set. You can do on of two things.

    1. readjust the limit switch ramps on the y axis. I would carefully take the y axis to the point where you hit the hard stop in each direction and note the readings on your DRO. Then adjust the ramps so they trip the limit switch slightly before you hit the hard stop. With Mach 3, it was possible to overshoot the the limit switch and hit the hard stop if the speed was high enough. That doesn't seem to be true for the PathPilot soft stops. Apparently the the software senses the approaching soft stop and decelerates the machine to avoid overshoot. I set the limit switches at about .050" before the hard stop.

    2. In PathPilot, you can set new soft stop positions. In the main tab, in the MDI window, type "ADMIN SET_Y_LIMIT 7.375" to change the limit to 7.375 instead of the default 7.500, for example. The new setting will be saved when exiting PathPilot. Be aware that this will reduce your work envelope accordingly. My 770 x axis was actually set slightly higher than the specification so I changed the soft stop to allow the greater travel.

Or 3. You can do both.

Option No2 Worked like a champ!

I set it to -7.45 it was tripping at -7.493

    Thank you!
