    Limit Switch Wiring

A few questions on wiring of limit switches:
1 - Is it customary to disable all motors (X, Y and Z) when any limit switch is activated?

2 - Is it customary to route the full power supply current through these switches? Or are they used to control a low side N_FET?

3 - Are temperature switches on the motors useful?

    Thanks

You would normally wire the limit switches to you break out board, then the software does the stopping when one is activated, pauses program execution and prompt for action.

They are a signal function and don't directly connect to the motors.

I would think if the motors are getting hot enough to be a concern you should probably check over everything. I have heard of steppers getting quite hot, but not enough to melt down.
