Laser Cut 5.3 Not cutting to correct size!

Just noticed on our 60W Signify laser that uses Lasercut 5.3 that it is cutting incorrectly. It cuts out shape perfectly but the dimensions of the finished product are way out!
A 50mm x 50mm square comes out a 44 x 44. On screen when downloaded to the Lasercut screen it measures 50 x 50 but it I actually cutting the shape about 10% smaller. Am I missing something simple???

You need to change the pulse per minute for the X and Y steppers.

Take the current pulse value for x & y and divide it by 44- this will give you a figure for the current pulses per millimeter for your machine X & Y.

Simply take the pulse per millimeter and multiply by 50

You will now have an accurate value for the number of pulses your machine- enter this under the options menu and your machine will now be corrected to match the actual stepper motors not a theoretical value.

In your case X & Y ae out by the same amount which makes things easier- you can adjust X and Y individually if needed.

    Hi,

I'm having the same problem, I am cutting a 19x19mm square and actual cut size is 18.6x18.6mm, can someone please tell me exactly what needs to be done ?

Where can I find the current pulse value for X&Y ? is the value in the screen ? If so, what do I need to do with it precisely ?

BTW my lasercut version is 6.1

Re: Laser Cut 5.3 Not cutting to correct size!

    hi
first to fix this prb folow me step by step

1- go and draw 50*50 SQUARE (before changing any parameter )
2- measure the SQUARE WITH PRECISION .

FOR EXEMPLE THE measured SQUARE IS 40*30

    start by fixing x axis
to do this u have 2 parameters

    per length and pulse counts

    nice nice

    /current settings
    per length = 15.000
    pulse counts = 1000
    /
so the controller give 1000 pulse to move 15 (for our case we give 50mm and it moved 40mm
    15 need 1000
    50 need (50*1000)/15 = 3333.333 pulse
but in fact 3333.333 move the head for only 40
now just go and update ur settings

    40 need 3333.333
    15.00 need 15*3333.333/40 = 1250

    per length = 15.000
    pulse counts = 1250

    or just
    per length = 40
    pulse length = 3333.33

the same thing for y axis

i hope this will be helpful for u and other members thank u
