    Iemca genius bar loader jamming

I am new to swiss and have recently bought a tornos delta 20/4 and separately bought a 6' Iemca genius bar loader, that was originally interfaced with a Citizen.

What is happening is that when I open the clamshell and close the clamshell the unit is jamming. From reading the about the sequence of opening and closing, the flag (pusher) is suppose to go to zero then open the clamshell. But what is happening the flag goes to zero stops, then moves to -30 position, then tries to open. Which is when the unit jams. Same scenario happens when closing, except it moves itself to 100 position before closing.

Now using the hand crank to open and close, it works perfectly fine. What I've done so far was check that all the position sensors to make sure that they are working. But really not sure where to go from here.

Also if anyone has any contacts for someone who can do Iemca bar feeder repairs in the South Florida area would be helpful.

    Thanks

What year machine & Iemca? Some of the earlier "Genius" bar feeds could be quite difficult.

On the Genius, when you're cranking the handle to open the channel, the flag/pusher needs to be a little bit forward of it's furthest back position. When you're opening the channel, either manually (hand crank) or semi-automatic (PLC interface), the first part of the of sequence to open the channel is the pusher moves back a little bit. And if it's already in its furthest back position, it has no place to go when going thru the channel open sequence.

If that doesn't help, call Bryan McKibben at Iemca: (704) 904-5749
He knows those bar feeds fairly well.

We have talked to him before, he works for edge now. He said it was beyond his scope, and suggested to contact Iemca. I'm am trying to avoid having to fly someone in from Iemca. It just seems like there is and extra signal being sent to to the pusher. When closing using the semi-auto function or step by step on the bar feeder interface, it goes to the zero position, stops, then goes the pusher shots forward to the 100 position or at least until the clam shell closes on the pusher.

Also, If anyone has a VIDEO of a genius bar feeder functioning in detail that could help as well?

    SOLVED!!!!

The K138 relay that actuates the pusher clutch was faulty. Replaced the relay and now its working.
